Kitakyushu

Kawachi Fujien Wisteria Garden
is a private garden in the wooded hills south of central Kitakyushu, famous for pectacularly presented, large numbers of wisteria flowers. The garden is opened to the public seasonally during the wisteria season which usually peaks around late April to mid May and during the maple leaf season
Mojiko Retro
is the northernmost of Kitakyushu city, and it faces the central area of Shimonoseki city in Yamaguchi Prefecture across narrow Kanmon Straits. About a dozen of old buildings are in the area, and some new buildings such as hotel and commercial complex has been built since the 1990s.
Kokura Castle
Kokura Castle is an well-restored castle built on a plain that has become the symbol of the city of Kitakyushu, the only standing castle keep in Fukuoka Prefecture. The castle grounds are now known as Katsuyama Park and are a popular cherry blossom spot usually in bloom around early April.
Kaikyo Dramaship
Overlooking the magnificent Kanmon Channel, Kaikyo Dramaship was built as the core facility of the Mojiko Retro District and offers a dramatic introduction to the history of the channel as well as the nature and culture surrounding it.
Karato Ichiba Fish Market
is a wholesale fish market to which professional chefs come from around Shimonoseki and even Kitakyushu on the other side of the Kanmon Channel.
Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History
In 2002, three of Kitakyushu's municipal museums—Natural History Museum, Human History Museum, and the Museum of Archaeology—were combined to create the Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History and Human History. The museum hosts an impressive collection of fossils and archeological discoveries.
Kanmon Bridge
is a suspension bridge crossing the Kanmon Straits, a stretch of water separating two of Japan's four main islands.
Katsuyama Park
This park in the center of Kokura is a symbol of Kitakyushu City and includes Kokura Castle, park field, and a children’s play area with octopus-shaped playground equipment. It offers tourism and cultural facilities such as Kokura Castle Japanese Garden, Matsumoto Seicho Memorial Museum etc.
Kanmon Tunnel
An undersea tunnel connects Kyushu and the main Island. The construction was started in 1936 and completed in March 1958 after a contemporary break due to the war. This is known as a unique undersea tunnel with 2 levels of 3,461m long driveway and 780m Kanmon pedestrian tunnel.
KITAKYUSHU ECO TOWN
At the Kitakyushu Eco-Town Center, to help educate people about recycling and reusing, there is an exhibition that displays and introduces the various Eco-Town enterprises and also tours of the recycling plants.
