Izu Peninsula

The Izu Peninsula is popular for its World-class surf and sand, highland resorts, mountain onsen and rugged coastlines. Mt.Omuro

Mount Omuro is an extinct volcano near the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula. It is shaped like an inverted rice bowl and has a beautiful silhouette that can be seen from most places in the Izu Kogen area. Mt Omuro is about 580 meters high and has a crater with a diameter of about 300 meters.

Joren Falls

A famous waterfall in Izu in the headwaters of the Kano River. Joren Falls is situated among deep forests, and drops from basalt cliffs 25m high and 7m wide. The cold mountain air and water spray feels chilly even in the summer. Along the valley are wasabi fields, a specialty of Amagi.

Bamboo Forest Path

This is a pedestrian walkway that was built over the course of three years starting in 1994 which follows the Katsuragawa River flowing through the center of the hot spring resort near Shuzenji Temple in Izu City.

Koibito-misaki (Lover’s Cape)

Koibito Misaki (Lover's Cape) is a scenic spot with a view of Mt. Fuji . It was renamed to its current romantic title "Lover's Cape" because of the many tourists visiting this place due to a folklore that had been told about couples reconfirming their love by ringing the bell.

Jogasaki Coast

The Jogasaki Coast is a beautiful section of coastline along the Izu Peninsula's eastern coast. An attractive hiking trail follows the coast for almost ten kilometers, offering beautiful views of the jagged cliffs and stone formations that hug the coast.

Shuzenji Onsen Town

Shuzenji Onsen is one of the oldest and most famous hot spring resort towns on the Izu Peninsula. Located in the hilly center of the peninsula, it lacks the ocean views of many nearby onsen towns but attracts visitors with its history and attractive setting.

Izu shaboten Zoo

The Izu Shoboten Zoo is a mixture between botanical and zoological garden. It is located besides the strikingly shaped, grass covered Mount Omuro, an extinct volcano near central Ito on the Izu Peninsula.

Izunokuni Panorama Park Ropeway

Take the cable car up and be amazed by the spectacular panoramic view of Mt Fuji, Suruga Bay and Hakone. Seasonal flowers make the scene all the more idyllic. The ropeway runs for 1,800m and takes seven minutes to reach the summit following a climb of 452m.

Ito Marine Town

Marine Town is a cute tourist destination. Quite a few good little eateries and sweets shops,Brewery that features seasonal beers and offers tastings. It also features a spa and offers boat tours of the bay. Enjoy a free foot bath while overlooking the bay while taking in the great scenery.

Old Amagi Tunnel

A precious piece of Meiji period heritage, and a setting in the novel "Izu no Odoriko",Opened in 1905.The beautiful design of its stonework showcases the skills of Meiji craftsmen.With this, the mood enclosed by the Japanese cedars and cypresses will make for a truly unforgettable experience.
