Nikko
Nikko is the capital of Tochigi Prefecture, where magnificent architecture, deep history and untouched nature merge. Attractions include the Futarasan Shrine, which dates to the year 767.
There are also many famous hot springs in the area. The mountains west of the main city are part of Nikko National Park. This city has been the backdrop of Shinto and Buddhist worship since at least the 8th century. Especially Toshogu Shrine, this lavishly decorated and magnificent shrine is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Ryuzu Waterfall
means "dragon head waterfall" in Japanese. The name comes from the shape of the falls, which resembles the head of a dragon.

Takinoo Shrine
The 1-km stone path leading to the detached Takinoo Shrine from the back of the main approach goes through the woods and abounds with huge rocks, natural springs and waterfalls.
Kirifuri Waterfall
was another one of those off-the-beaten-path ones as far as Julie and I were concerned. However, in this instance, we discovered the main reason why this was the case was that the All Nikko Pass didn't work for the Kirifuri Highlands route, which was where this waterfall was located
Kanmangafuchi Pool
Kanmangafuchi Abyss was formed by an eruption of nearby Mount Nantai. This gorge near central Nikko is only a few hundred meters long and can be enjoyed from a pleasant riverside walking trail.
Akechidaira Ropeway One Way
A rest house stands beside the parking lot, serving as a souvenir shop, cafeteria and the lower station of the Akechidaira Ropeway. In three minutes, the ropeway carries visitors to an observation platform further up the mountain for spectacular views over Kegon Waterfall and Lake Chuzenjiko.
Senjogahara Marshland
It offers some of the best hiking in the Nikko National Park and is particularly beautiful during the autumn leaf season in October. The hiking trail offers excellent views of the marshland and surrounding mountains, and it takes around 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.
Tobu World Square
Tobu World Square is a theme park in Kinugawa Onsen, Nikkō, Tochigi, Japan. The theme park contains over a hundred 1:25 scale models of famous buildings, including UNESCO-designated World Cultural and Heritage Sites, complete with 140,000 1:25 miniature people.
