Naoshima
Naoshima is an island in the Seto Inland Sea that is known for its modern art museums, architecture and sculptures. Art House Project
The Art House Project is an art project underway in Naoshima's Honmura district. It began in 1998 with Kadoya, and currently comprises seven locations: Kadoya, Minamidera, Kinza, Go'o Shrine, Ishibashi, Gokaisho, and Haisha.
Yellow Pumpkin Sculputure
Yellow Pumpkin is located 40 minutes away from the port, along the beach near Tutsuji-so. The pumpkins are huge works with a stem and black dots painted all over. They are symbols of Naoshima that appear beautifully in front of the deep blue sea and the sky.

Miyanoura port is the place where tourists land foot in the Yakushima island first. Several high-speed vessels are operated a from Kagoshima port to Miyanoura port everyday. It takes 2 to 3 hours.
Lee Ufan Museum
Opened in time for the 2010 Setouchi Triennale, the Lee Ufan Museum is one of the more recent additions to Naoshima. The museum features works by the Korean contemporary artist Lee Ufan, who was born in Korea but has been working and teaching in Japan.
