Kurashiki
Kurashiki can be roughly translated as "town of storehouses" for that the city served as an important rice distribution center the rice storehouses. Nowadays, many of Kurashiki's former storehouses have been converted into museums, boutiques and cafes. It is also renowned a beautifully preserved historical town with a canal area that dates back to the Edo Period (1603-1867) and Japan's premier destination for denim.
Ohara Museum of Art
The Ohara Museum of Art in Kurashiki was the first collection of Western art to be permanently exhibited in Japan. The museum opened in 1930 and originally consisted almost entirely of French paintings and sculptures of the 19th and 20th centuries.

At this extraordinary museum, only articles related to the folk tale “Momotaro” are on display. The museum is full of fun attractions such as the amazing demon-infested caves of “Onigashima” (Demon Island), karakuri optical illusion gimmicks, and Momotaro animations.
