Asahikawa
Asahikawa is Hokkaido's second-largest city with a major zoo and flourishing culture of arts and crafts and superb powder snow, it lies to the northwest of the Daisetsuzan mountain range and is a major gateway to Sounkyo Gorge and Furano. It has well over 100 rivers flowing through it, the area also presents great runs for skiing and snowboarding when winter comes along, plus a snow festival that rivals Sapporo's.
Kamui Ski Links
The ski resort is about 1 hour by car from central Asahikawa City. Participants can easily enjoy the powder snow. There is also a shuttle bus operating from Asahikawa (additional fee required).
craft &design TANNO
Mr. Tanno is a local wood craft artist who is known as one of pioneers of this genre. His innovative designs and utilization of different woods have helped to change people's perception of wood craft.
Kaneto Kawamura Ainu Museum
exhibits a wide range of traditional Ainu tools and goods, as well as a hut made out of bamboo grass. The museum was founded by the local Ainu leader Kawamura Kaneto (1893-1977), an outstanding surveyor in railway construction, who also worked on educating people about Ainu culture.

Santa Present Park
Santa Present Park Mallows Garande is located just to the west of the central area of Asahikawa city. Nicolas Tower at the top of the slopes is a popular tourist spot and there are fine views of Asahikawa city and Daisetsuzan on a clear day.This ski hill first opened in 1969.
Takasu
Takasu is a town in Kamikawa Subprefecture in Hokkaido, Japan. Translated into English, Takasu means "hawk's nest". As of September 2016, the town has an estimated population of 7,140 people.
