Aomori
Aomori is the northernmost prefecture on the main island of Japan. Nebuta Warasse
The Nebuta Warasse is an interesting museum dedicated to the city's famous Nebuta Matsuri which is held annually in early August. The museum is housed in a unique building covered in red metal slats and stands along Aomori's waterfront district just north of Aomori Station.
Sannai Maruyama Site
The Sannai Maruyama Archaeological Site (三内丸山遺跡, Sannai Maruyama Iseki) is the largest and one of the most complete and best preserved Jomon Period (13000-300 BC) villages in Japan.
Furukawa Fish Market
The Furukawa Fish Market, also known as the Aomori Gyosai Center (青森魚菜センター, Aomori Gyosai Sentā), is a public fish market in central Aomori. Just like the Auga Fish Market a few blocks north, the Furukawa Fish Market is filled with tightly packed rows of vendors selling all sorts of local seafood, vegetables and pickles.
Hakkoda Maru Memorial Ship
The Hakkoda-Maru was a transport ship that carried trains from Aomori, in the north of Honshu Island, to Hakodate, in the south of Hokkaido. Hakkoda-Maru provided services from 1966 until 1988, when the opening of the underwater Seikan Tunnel rendered sea transport less desirable and redundant.
Gappo Park
Approximately 670 cherry trees have been planted in the seaside park which has been selected as one of the 100 best city parks. Beautiful scenes of white sands and blue pine trees can be enjoyed and there are monuments to be seen including a monument in memory of Takuboku Ishikawa in the park.
Aomori Asamushi Aquarium
Asamushi Aquarium also called Aquarium Asamushi, is an aquarium in the Asamushi area of Aomori, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. Overlooking Mutsu Bay, it is the northernmost aquarium in Honshū.
Oirase Gorge
Oirase Stream is a picturesque mountain stream in Aomori Prefecture. The stream flows along the floor of the Oirase Gorge, winding among trees which, while a lush green in spring and summer, turn brilliant shades of red, yellow and orange from late October through early November.
Lake Tawoda
Lake Towada is part of the Towada-Hachimantai National Park and is the largest caldera lake on Honshu, Japan's main island. The area is well known for its autumn colors especially around the Oirase Stream, one of Japan's most famous autumn color spots.
Towada Art Center
The Towada Art Center is an art museum in Towada, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The museum was opened in 2008 as part of the Arts Towada Project, in an effort to revitalize the city. It features works from artists both inside and outside of Japan, including Yoko Ono, Yoshitomo Nara, Jeong-Hwa Choi.
Jogakura Bridge
The longest deck arch bridge in Japan, stretching for 360 meters. You can gave down at the Jogakura Keiryu streams from 120 meters above, with a superb view of the red Japanese and maple beech tree leaves spreading out in the area surrounding the bridge.
