Aizu

Aizu-Wakamatsu is a castle town in the interior of Fukushima Prefecture which is known for its award-winning sake and its samurai tradition. It lies in a beautiful valley, beside onsen, castle, and well-preserved traditional townscapes, lacquerware has reputation here. Hiking and skiing opportunities and scenic beauty can be enjoyed in the city's natural surroundings, due to mountains around here, and it makes the Mount Banda regional landmark.

The Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Hall

The Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Hall ( Noguchi Hideyo Kinenkan) is dedicated to Noguchi Hideyo who had made significant contributions in his research towards a vaccine for yellow fever. Noguchi has also been credited with the discovery of the agent that causes syphilis, in 1911.
