· Valley of the Golden Mummies

It was discovered on 17 April, 2001. Four tombs were excavated, and found inside them were 105 mummies, of high-ranking Roman Egyptians, many wearing gold masks. These mummies, many sumptuously decorated with religious scenes, represent the very best of Roman-Period mummies ever found in Egypt. These ancient remains are around 2000 years old, but they have withstood the test of time remarkably well.

· English House

English House is located high on a hill, and although just a few of the walls and tumbled stones remain, the hilltop offers a breathtaking view of Bahariya Oasis below. Many travelers choose to take a picnic and hike to the hilltop where they can sit among history and enjoy a beautiful view.

· Black Desert

The change in the desert floor from beige to black, 50km south of Bawiti, signals the beginning of the Black Desert. Formed by the erosion of the mountains, which have spread a layer of black powder and stones over the peaks and plateaus, it looks like a landscape straight out of Hades. 

· White Desert & Valley of Agabat

Upon first glimpse of the 300-sq-km national park of the White Desert, you’ll feel like Alice through the looking-glass. About 20km northeast of Farafra, on the east side of the road, blinding-white chalk rock spires sprout almost supernaturally from the ground, each frost-coloured lollipop licked into a surreal landscape of familiar and unfamiliar shapes by the dry desert winds.
When you stand on top the small rock cliff at one of the valleys and the valley with the rock formation unfolds before you, and there is not a single trace of another living being in the whole vicinity - you'll find a unique moment of peace and contentment.
