Arrive in Brisbane, where you’ll head to Australia Zoo – founded by the late Steve Irwin – to see the wide range of wildlife that the country has to offer. Continuing on to Hervey Bay, you’ll take a cruise to Fraser Island for a two-night stay on the largest sand island in the world. A half day tour the following morning will allow you to explore the stunning mix of landscapes before free time for further exploration of the opportunity to make the most of your resort facilities.
Head back for the mainland to travel north through sugar cane country to Rockhampton, a small city sitting on the edge of the Mt Archer National Park.
Take a tour of the tropical paradise that is the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens to see many of the plants that are native to the area as well as the stunning Japanese Gardens. Then travel onwards to Airlie Beach to cruise out to Daydream Island.
Spend the day at leisure on the beautiful surroundings of Daydream Island, with the chance to simply relax by the pool or take up some of the optional activities available.
Travel back to the mainland and head for Townsville for a tour of the many sights of the tropical city. From there, it’s on to the overnight stop at the small coastal town of Mission Beach.
Witness some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Queensland as you journey across the Atherton Tablelands to the scenic village of Kuranda, where you’ll get the chance to witness stunning views across the rainforest during a trip on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
Take a guided trip by catamaran out to the Great Barrier Reef, with the chance to get up close to the vast array of marine life with a snorkelling trip amongst the coral, or through the underwater observatory on your boat. A special farewell dinner at Tjapukai by Night includes being led along a flame-lit pathway to a meal showcasing the regions best food.
Drive north to visit Port Douglas before returning to Cairns Airport where your tour comes to an end ready for the trip home.
